As you might already know, Michigan Radio’s Spring Challenge starts this week. Most businesses discuss offering investors a “return on investment” as a way to account for financial gain. We like to think about your contribution to Michigan Radio as a return on engagement (ROE). Your donation helps us all to engage better with people in our state who are making a difference in the lives of children.
No one can give a voice to the voiceless because they already have one. We just have to listen. That’s what we do at State of Opportunity. We bring you the voices of Michigan’s most vulnerable populations: children living in poverty. Your pledge helps us tell the stories of people who are trying to do something about that – from champions for kids, to parents working to break the cycle of poverty, to kids who’ve been there and know what it’s like to want a better life.
We’re going to revisit some of our most popular posts during the Spring Challenge. You’re invited to listen again with Outtakes, Think Again by reviewing a collection of posts on a popular theme, check out the Whiteboard for provocative discussion questions, and revisit Ideas & Stuff– the research that informs our stories and documentaries.
If anything you hear strikes a chord and reminds you of a story you want to share, connect with us via our website or our Facebook page.
