The debate over immigration in America is heated. And it's become a major talking point in this year's presidential election. But beyond the headlines, what is life really like for undocumented immigrants in Michigan?
This special State of Opportunity live event will explore how immigration policy shapes the lives of Michigan families. It will feature personal stories of what life is like for people living undocumented in Michigan as well as a panel discussion moderated by State of Opportunity reporter Dustin Dwyer.
Panelists include:
Susan Reed, managing attorney at the Michigan Immigrant Rights Center
Leticia Huesties, administrative relief coordinator for Michigan United
Gema Lowe, organizer with the Workers' Rights Center
There will be light refreshments and Spanish language interpreting available for those who request it.
